How Laser Redness Therapy Works

We invest in state-of-the-art laser technology that allows us to treat concentrated areas of your face with intense — yet gentle beams of light to reduce facial redness without damaging your skin. Whether you are experiencing redness from certain conditions or by way of genetics we can target tiny blood vessels that sit just beneath the skin, causing those vessels to route away from the surface of the skin, to diffuse overall redness.

We commonly treat the:

• Forehead
• Cheeks
• Nose
• Chin
• Neck Area

Our technicians are an incredibly talented and compassionate team and will speak with you to outline realistic goals and expectations for your facial redness treatment.

From consultation to my first appointment I have felt heard, informed, and like a partner in all choices regarding my treatment.

Prepping For Your Facial Redness Treatment

So, you have scheduled your facial redness treatment, bravo! Before you come in, we have some recommendations for how to prepare so that you have the most comfortable, enjoyable, and successful experience possible. Stay out of the sun as much as you can for 4-6 weeks before (and after) your treatment. Freshly tanned skin does not play well with laser technology and could leave your skin with unwanted hypo-pigmentation (white marks).

Hold off on any photosensitizing topical creams or exfoliants (i.e., Retin A. or Renova) for a couple of weeks leading up to your appointment. Suppose you use non-prescribed topical medications or skincare products, our technicians recommend stopping during the week before your facial redness treatment to avoid complications or preventable negative side effects. Let your technician know about any topical products you take advantage of or if you have a history of peri-oral herpes simplex virus, as we may recommend some additional steps for optimal results.

Aftercare Recommendations

Now that you are all done with your facial redness treatment, what is next? A redness diffusion treatment is a fairly non-invasive procedure with minimal pain and recovery, but we do have some aftercare tips for a more comfortable recovery. It is not uncommon to feel and experience a mild sunburn-like feeling or slight puffiness in the targeted areas for a day or so. Do not worry, this is completely normal and will go away after 3-5 days. You can use ice packs to cool the area, reducing inflammation and redness.

Avoid saunas, hot tubs, or pools for 2-3 days post treatment. Use SPF 30+ sunscreen on your face daily and try to reduce UV exposure for at least three weeks. After you have given your face a day to get started on the healing process, you can use your topical face items or non-fragrance moisturizers.

If you have questions after your facial redness treatment about the aftercare process, one of our highly-trained technicians will be available to answer any questions you have along the way.
