Are you seeing: Dark hairs pop up on your upper lip, neck, or chin that did not used to be there? Sun spots on your face, hands, chest, or arms? Fine lines that you would like to firm up? Broken capillaries or cherry angiomas on your arms, chest, or abdomen?
As we age, we can see:
-An increase in laxity as our collagen production slows
-Sun spots as the years of sun exposure bring a larger collection of those active melanocytes which show up as freckles, liver spots, or age spots on our face, hands, chest, or arms
-Dark hairs on the upper lip, chin, and front of neck (and maybe other places too)
-broken capillaries as our skin thins and experiences damage by sun, topicals, and extreme temperatures.
At Mill City Laser in the Minneapolis area, we have been providing our clients with menopause changes high-quality skin care and hair removal since 2016. We firmly believe there is no “should” when it comes to beauty, aging, hair, or skin and that each person can define the treatment they want.
Laser hair reduction - or laser hair removal - is a common service sought out by anyone who is experiencing a change in darker hairs where they are not preferred. Laser treatments are a less painful alternative to waxing and after eight to ten sessions, most clients report satisfaction with their hair removal goals. We do need these new hairs to have pigment - within the range of brown to black in order for the laser to see them. If the new hairs you are seeing are grey or white, laser treatments would not be successful.
Mill City Laser can offer skin care treatments for redness, broken capillaries, sun spots, fine lines, and cherry angiomas.
Our team of experienced technicians help you feel comfortable throughout the entire process and confident in the results.

Anti-Aging: What Do We Mean?
Anti-aging has become a bit of an overused buzzword in mainstream media. Anti-aging is studied scientifically, but it can be difficult for consumers to tell the difference between real solutions and gimmicks marketed to them.
At Mill City Laser, we use methods and tools that are backed by science and research. We always promise to be transparent with our customers about expectations, processes, and risks. It is our mission to provide clients with the best treatments available.
Skin Treatments
Our skincare services are meant to visibly reduce signs of aging and damaged skin. Our laser technology uses heat energy to deliver a specific amount of heat, at a specific depth, at a specific target to accomplish a goal. Our laser can work with several targets: hair pigment, lesion pigment, blood, and water. We offer the following skincare and anti-aging treatments:
Photofacials
Photofacials. A photofacial is a laser skin rejuvenation treatment that safely and effectively targets reds and browns to provide a more even skin tone.
Redness Reduction
According to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, facial redness can be caused by a number of things:
Acne
Hormones
Aging
Medication
Diffuse redness
Redness can be caused by dilated capillaries, which cause general redness of the skin. The most common areas affected by redness are the nose, forehead, and cheeks. What causes these conditions?
Age
Genetics
Prolonged heat exposure
Burns and sunburns
Shifting between extreme temperatures
Pressure
Do you have redness or broken capillaries that you would like to reduce? The heat from the laser causes these vessels at the skin’s surface to close, which can diffuse the overall redness and create a more even skin tone.
Spots Reduction: Freckles, Sunspots, Cherry Angiomas
Freckles, sunspots, and cherry angiomas are quite common, especially in people 30 and older and are usually harmless. What causes these spots? How can they be treated?
Freckles. Some people have many freckles year-round, and some people only get them after prolonged sun exposure. Freckles can fade over time or darken with UV exposure.
Sunspots. As the name suggests, sunspots are caused by the sun. The main factor at play is how much you expose your skin to the sun in your lifetime.
Cherry angiomas. Whether or not you get a cherry angioma is completely determined by genetics. Cherry angiomas look like little red moles. They can be flat or raised and increase in number as you age.
Laser treatment can help reduce the visibility of all of these spots and dots. The laser produces heat energy that is absorbed by the freckle, sunspot, or cherry angioma and the top layers are shed through normal body processes, revealing healthy skin beneath. Keep in mind, if you have had these spots for most of your life, you may need several treatments to see the desired results and some spots may not be able to be fully reduced.
